Presentation Abstract
Industrial Applications of UAF
Applying the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), previously known as Unified profile for MODAF and DoDAF (UPDM), using an MBSE approach moves the architecture modelling effort to one that is an integral part of systems engineering (SE), helping the systems integrator to develop interoperable systems, with traceability to requirements and across views, using one integrated architecture model that enables impact analysis, gap analysis, trade studies, simulations, and engineering analysis. Moreover, the scope of UAF is expanded beyond defence architectures. It is genericized to be applicable to architecting system of systems of any domain.
This presentation demonstrates several example studies, emphasizing how to apply a standard-based approach to execute engineering analysis and behavioral simulation on the system of systems model defined in UAF. In particular, Search and Rescue and Autonomous Traffic Control examples will be demonstrated.
