The union of No Magic and DASSAULT SYSTEMES was a natural occurrence driven by the needs of two separate but similar user communities. The historic community of CATIA 3D CAD users wanted to integrate to systems engineering and architectural models for traceability and verification.  The traditional No Magic user-base wanted to realize architectural models with 3D simulations. Indeed, the CATIA promise to “Shape the world we live in” fully includes the core No Magic capabilities and values.

This presentation will demonstrate one possibility on how these two complementary technologies can come together. We will go through the design of an elevator where the control systems will be modeled in No Magic while the rest of the elevator, including hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical, are designed in CATIA. The two environments will then be used simultaneously to simulate the entire system, demonstrating federation via the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
