Presentation Abstract
Instance-based Logic in Network Models
MagicDraw is useful for developing architectures, but can it be used for modeling and simulation activities? This paper explores the use of instance specifications to simulate the traversal of a message through an information technology (IT) network. When performance specifications are associated with particular hardware devices, the simulated path can be used to conduct parametric analyses. Thus, adding instance-based logic to MagicDraw models can provide a valuable intermediate fidelity solution before transitioning to a more costly M&S tool.
